In the summer the heat can become unbearable, both for us and for our dog. There are various things that every dog guardian should pay attention to as well as various accessories that can make the dog's life more comfortable as well as fun!
Early morning or late afternoon ride. We avoid the hours when it is very hot not only to avoid heat stroke or sunburn of the animal but also possible burns on their paws from the hot asphalt.
Feeding early in the morning or in the evening, always after the walk. Our dog will have more appetite in the cooler hours. We always provide food after the ride and not before to avoid gastrointestinal complications.
We always make sure our dog has plenty of cool water at his disposal!
The housing of our dog must be done in a cool, shady and very well ventilated area!
We provide our dog with special cooling toys that go into the freezer, freeze and provide a pleasant and safe chewing activity for our dog while cooling him at the same time!
We are replacing his crib with a cooling bed! The cooling beds contain a special gel which has the property of cooling when pressure is exerted on it, for example when our dog lies down on it. What's better than a nap on a cool, refreshing mattress!
If we go for a walk in the sun, we wear a cooling collar around our dog's neck, which will cool him down. The cooling collars are put in the freezer in advance so that they are ready for the ride. Of course, we again make sure not to overdo it in the heat!
We have a portable water dish with us so that our dog can quench his thirst. Portable water dishes are collapsible and easily fit in a pocket, bag or hang from our belt to always have them with us!
If we go on a trip by car, we always have our dog secured with a special seat belt or we transport it in a special dog carrier. Restraining the dog is necessary both to avoid an accident and to avoid injury. For the seats there are special covers which are easy to wash and protect the seats of your vehicle!
If we go to the sea, we do not force our dog to enter the water. We take care to bring our dog into contact with the water smoothly and in a fun way to give him a pleasant experience! Of course, there are also special life jackets for dogs as well as accessories such as travel sets for food and water so that he doesn't miss anything!
